Illinois USA-1962: Classic Blue Car Parked in Sunlit Suburban Yard

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

This clip suits documentary, commercial, or editorial requests needing an authentic early-1960s suburban American domestic scene with period transportation as a visual anchor.

Period detail

A large dark-blue American sedan with rounded mid-century body lines parked in a leafy suburban yard suggests early 1960s styling; the 1962 date is metadata-assigned with high confidence.

Home-movie behavior

An unhurried backyard shot—camera held mostly static to record the family car in its familiar resting spot—carries the casual, unscripted domestic register of 1960s home movies.

What appears in frame

Dark-blue mid-century American sedan, mature deciduous trees with green canopy, sunlit grassy yard, scattered fallen leaves on the ground, cone-shaped object near the car, roofline of a house or structure in background.

Film character

8mm color stock renders warm yellows and greens with visible grain, slight vignetting at frame edges, and natural color drift consistent with period color reversal emulsion.

Edit role

Works as a period establishing insert or cutaway to anchor a domestic 1960s American scene, or as a memory beat transition in a decade retrospective or automobile history piece.

Historical context

The large-body sedan reflects postwar American car culture in which families often photographed automobiles as markers of prosperity; the suburban yard setting is consistent with mid-century Midwest residential life.

Research note

No identifiable people or minors appear in any frame; the car's make and model are not clearly legible; verify whether the background structure constitutes recognizable private property before commercial use.
