Lovely Garden And Water Fountain Outside Of The Large — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1960, this vintage home movie captures a grand white mansion with arched windows and a terraced garden in Tampa, Florida. Lush green lawns, manicured hedges, and classical stone balustrades frame the estate, with a water fountain visible in the foreground. The footage, viewed through a dark vignette, shows a slow pan across the property's elegant grounds, highlighting palm trees, ornamental columns, and a serene, sun-drenched atmosphere. The warm color palette and film grain evoke a nostalgic, mid-century American lifestyle.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Suits documentary or educational productions seeking mid-century Florida estate and garden footage as a visual record of 1960s affluent American lifestyle.
Period detail: 8mm color film with warm saturation and pronounced dark edge vignetting; formal garden with Mediterranean Revival-style architecture may place this at a Florida estate circa 1960.
Home-movie behavior: A visitor or homeowner executes a slow deliberate pan across the estate grounds, recording the property with the careful framing of someone commemorating a visit or showing it off.
What appears in frame: Grand white mansion with arched windows, large ornate iron finial, manicured geometric hedges, ornamental columns, stone balustrade wall, tall palm trees, tropical flowering plants, garden pathway.
Film character: Warm 8mm color stock with visible grain and heavy dark edge vignetting; steady daylight exposure renders the garden in rich greens and warm highlights typical of mid-century home movie film.
Edit role: Works as an establishing shot or contemplative cutaway in productions covering postwar Florida wealth, heritage tourism, or mid-century American estate lifestyle.
Historical context: Mediterranean Revival estates with formal gardens were emblems of Florida wealth in the postwar era; footage may reflect 1960s affluent residential culture or heritage tourism.
Research note: Private property is clearly visible and the specific estate is unconfirmed; architectural and property owner rights should be investigated before broadcast use, regardless of copyright status.
Research search match: Likely matches searches for 1960s Florida estate garden, vintage home movie mansion, mid-century American architecture, or 8mm color footage of Florida property.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other frames from this reel; then with 1960s Florida location footage on Stockfilm; then with mid-century American estate or formal garden clips.
