Boy Sliding Down Pool Slide Into Water — Clip Details

A young boy in a red swimsuit stands at the top of a blue plastic slide in a backyard pool area, then slides down into the water. The footage, shot on 8mm film in 1971, captures the boy's joyful descent and splash in the pool, with a striped tent visible in the background. The clip features natural film grain, slight motion blur, and the warm, faded color palette characteristic of vintage home movies. This authentic slice of 1970s Americana shows a classic summer day of backyard fun and family recreation.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s 8mm home-movie footage for edits needing a suburban summer recreation moment at a backyard or residential swimming pool.
Period detail: The blue plastic pool slide, striped sunshade, faded color and 8mm texture may show early 1970s family leisure around an outdoor pool.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged family viewpoint as a boy waits on the slide, descends, and splashes into the pool.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a swimming pool, blue slide, ladder rail, striped sunshade, pool deck, water splash, trees, and a swimmer in the water.
Film character: The footage has soft focus, handheld framing, visible grain, mild flicker, and bright summer exposure typical of scanned 8mm home movies.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief insert, memory beat, or transition for childhood, summer, family recreation, or suburban pool scenes.
Historical context: The scene reflects private family recreation and warm-weather outdoor play without supporting broader claims about Lynbrook or 1970s pool culture.
Research note: People and a likely minor are visible, so likeness and privacy review may be needed in addition to copyright and any property considerations.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1970s 8mm boy on pool slide, Lynbrook New York home movie swimming pool, and vintage backyard summer splash.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with same-reel family pool footage, then Lynbrook or 1971 home movies, then broader 1970s childhood swimming and summer recreation scenes.
