Diving Girl Swimming Underwater — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1952, this vintage home movie captures a young woman swimming underwater in a classic one-piece swimsuit. Bubbles rise around her as she moves through the blue-green water, with aquatic plants visible in the foreground. The footage has a soft, grainy quality typical of Super 8 home movies from the early 1950s, evoking a sense of nostalgic summer recreation. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports 1950s Florida recreation requests needing brief archival home-movie underwater swimming footage for documentary, museum, education, or memory sequences.
Period detail: The one-piece swimsuit, 8mm color texture, and recreational underwater filming may show early-1950s leisure activity in a clear Florida spring or waterway.
Home-movie behavior: The swimmer appears unstaged as she moves underwater, adjusts her hands near her face, and floats among plants from a close home-movie viewpoint.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a young woman underwater, a dark one-piece swimsuit, rising bubbles, aquatic plants, branches or roots, blue-green water, and film-frame borders.
Film character: The clip has soft 8mm color, visible grain, slight blur, uneven exposure, and contact-sheet frame edges that give it clear physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, summer-memory cutaway, underwater transition, or period recreation beat within a 1950s leisure sequence.
Historical context: The footage visually documents personal aquatic recreation and amateur underwater filming without establishing a named spring, landmark, or public event.
Research note: A visible person appears in swimsuit underwater, so copyright status should be reviewed separately from likeness and privacy considerations.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1950s Florida underwater swimming, 8mm home movie woman in swimsuit, vintage spring recreation, and archival diving girl footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby shots from the same reel, then with Florida 1952 footage, and then with broader vintage swimming, diving, or summer recreation scenes.
