Woman Underwater Performer In Aquarium Taking A Break To... — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1952, this vintage home movie captures a woman underwater in a pool or aquarium, likely performing as a mermaid. She wears a purple one-piece swimsuit and holds a long air tube, with a steady stream of bubbles rising from it. Her dark hair floats around her face as she smiles and poses, surrounded by green aquatic plants. The footage has a soft, blue-tinted color palette and natural film grain, evoking a nostalgic 1950s aesthetic. This archival clip offers authentic underwater performance footage for documentaries, retro content, or historical storytelling.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s Florida home-movie footage for productions needing a brief underwater aquarium or mermaid-style performer moment with visible breathing tube and bubbles.
Period detail: The clip may show a mid-century tourist aquarium or underwater performance setting, with a woman in a one-piece swimsuit framed through blue-green 8mm film color.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the informal visitor-shot view of a performer pausing underwater for air while still smiling and holding her pose for the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman underwater, a purple one-piece swimsuit, a long air tube, rising bubbles, floating dark hair, aquatic plants, blue-green water, and soft film-frame edges.
Film character: The 8mm scan has soft focus, visible grain, blue-green color shift, mild exposure variation, and contact-sheet framing that preserve the physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, memory beat, or underwater transition in a sequence about Florida attractions, novelty performances, aquariums, or mid-century leisure.
Historical context: The footage offers visual context for staged underwater entertainment and visitor filming practices without identifying the performer, venue, or attraction by name.
Research note: A visible adult face and body require likeness review, while no logos, children, private property, or audible music are evident from the supplied metadata and frames.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1952 8mm Florida underwater performer, vintage aquarium mermaid swimmer, woman breathing through air tube, and home movie underwater attraction footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1952 Florida footage, then related aquarium, swimmer, mermaid performance, or mid-century tourist attraction clips.
