Workers Transporting Parts To Others In The Evening — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1975, this vintage footage captures a bustling industrial scene at the Holland-America Line terminal in Venice, Italy. Workers in dark uniforms move across the dock, some carrying equipment, while others stand near a large gangway connecting to a ship. The black-and-white image shows the era's industrial architecture, with a prominent sign reading 'Holland-America Line' and a visible 'ROKEN' label on the building. The grainy texture and film scratches add authentic archival character, offering a nostalgic glimpse into mid-20th century maritime operations.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s editorial or documentary requests needing maritime labor, passenger terminal activity, or industrial dockside atmosphere in Venice.
Period detail: The gangway marked Holland-America Line, dark work clothes, terminal glazing, and 8mm home-movie framing support a mid-1970s port setting.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an observational visitor-shot feel, watching workers and bystanders move around the terminal rather than presenting a staged industrial scene.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a ship or terminal gangway, uniformed workers, dock pavement, terminal windows, structural beams, and Holland-America Line signage.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm grain, muted monochrome exposure, slight handheld instability, and contact-print framing that preserve its archival home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief insert, transition, or establishing cutaway for travel, migration, shipping, cruise-line, or port-labor sequences.
Historical context: The scene shows passenger or maritime terminal activity where workers coordinate around a raised gangway while people gather near the building entrance.
Research note: People and brand signage are visible, so copyright, trademark, likeness, and location-use questions should be reviewed separately for the intended project.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1970s Venice port footage, Holland-America Line terminal gangway, 8mm dock workers, maritime labor home movie, and vintage cruise terminal.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1975 Venice terminal footage, then broader 1970s maritime labor or European port travel material.
