Paris France-1947: Young Men Playing Soccer And One Goes For The Goal

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Useful for requests needing 1940s Paris amateur soccer, postwar recreation, or brief sports cutaways for documentary, museum, education, or editorial productions.

Period detail

The men’s shorts, long socks, simple goal frame, sideline spectators, and monochrome 8mm texture may show mid-20th-century amateur football culture in Paris.

Home-movie behavior

The value is in the unstaged play: players chase, defend, and gather near the goal while bystanders watch from the edge of the field.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include a grass football pitch, white goalposts, young male players, a goalkeeper, sideline spectators, field markings, and a low perimeter barrier.

Film character

The clip has grainy monochrome 8mm texture, slight handheld instability, soft focus, uneven exposure, and vertical frame artifacts from the original film scan.

Edit role

An editor could use this as a short sports insert, postwar recreation cutaway, Paris memory beat, or transition between broader civic and leisure scenes.

Historical context

The footage visually documents organized amateur sport and spectatorship in Paris without identifying a specific team, venue, match, or event.

Research note

People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos or brands are apparent, and copyright and location permissions require separate assessment.

Research search match

Searches it may satisfy include 1940s Paris soccer home movie, vintage 8mm football match, amateur men’s sports footage, and postwar French recreation.

Archive pairing path

Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then with 1947 Paris scenes, then with other amateur sport, recreation, and postwar European daily-life material.
