Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for requests needing 1940s Paris sports or postwar leisure footage for documentary, museum, education, or editorial sequences.
Period detail: The distant crowd, simple team uniforms, open grass pitch, and monochrome 8mm texture support a mid-1940s amateur spectator view of a soccer match.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the informal spectator angle, with the camera observing play from high in the stands rather than staging action for the lens.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include soccer players in light and dark kits, field markings, a distant goal area, a large seated crowd, open grass, and vertical frame obstructions.
Film character: The clip has soft 8mm grain, uneven exposure, gate marks, mild blur, and contact-sheet registration that give the footage clear physical-film character.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief insert, sports-history cutaway, transition, or memory beat within a sequence about Paris, football, or postwar public recreation.
Historical context: The scene shows organized soccer watched by a sizable crowd, offering visual context for public sport and leisure in Paris without identifying the match or venue.
Research note: People are visible at a distance, so likeness review may still be needed; no logos are apparent, and copyright clearance is separate from personality or venue rights.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1947 Paris soccer footage, 1940s football match crowd, vintage 8mm sports field, and postwar France leisure film.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then other 1947 Paris material, then broader 1940s European soccer or public recreation scenes.
