Alaska Plane On The Ground At Ketchikan International... — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie from 1977 captures an Alaska Airlines jet parked at Ketchikan International Airport. The white aircraft, featuring a blue and green stripe, is shown on the tarmac with ground service equipment, including a Marriott-branded cargo container and baggage carts. The footage, shot on Super 8 film, displays characteristic grain, slight color fading, and a nostalgic, authentic feel of mid-1970s air travel in Alaska.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s editorial requests needing Alaska air travel, airport ramp activity, or regional airline cutaways from home-movie footage.
Period detail: The aircraft livery, baggage carts, jet bridge, and Marriott-branded service container support a late-1970s airport setting shown in the metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a traveler-observer viewpoint, filming through airport windows or from a public terminal area rather than staged aviation coverage.
What appears in frame: Visible details include an Alaska Airlines jet, Ketchikan International Airport wall text, a jet bridge, baggage carts, ramp vehicles, and a Marriott-branded container.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows handheld framing, soft focus, film grain, slight color fade, and exposure variation typical of original home-movie material.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief insert, travel transition, aviation cutaway, or memory beat for 1970s Alaska arrival and departure sequences.
Historical context: The footage documents everyday commercial air travel infrastructure in Alaska, with airline branding and ground service activity visible on the ramp.
Research note: Human review should note visible Alaska and Marriott branding; copyright, trademark, and location/property questions remain separate from likeness clearance.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1977 Alaska airport footage, Ketchikan International Airport home movie, Alaska Airlines jet on tarmac, and 8mm aviation travel cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel shots, then other 1977 Ketchikan or Alaska airport material, then broader 1970s airline and travel footage.
