Two People Shaking Out A Red And Yellow Blanket In Woods — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1975, this vintage home movie captures two people in a wooded outdoor setting at Agate Springs, Montana. A man in a light-colored hat and dark jacket and a woman in a patterned headscarf and coat work together to shake out a large red and yellow blanket or tarp. The scene is bathed in natural sunlight, with green grass and trees surrounding them. The footage features classic Super 8 grain and color saturation, with a title card reading 'The Wouk party split' appearing at the beginning. This authentic slice of Americana is ideal for documentaries, nostalgic content, and historical storytelling.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s 8mm home-movie footage for productions needing a brief outdoor camp or travel-party activity in wooded Montana.
Period detail: The clothing, saturated color, title card, and small-gauge film texture support a 1975 home-movie context, with no visible landmarks beyond woods and grass.
Home-movie behavior: Two adults appear to work together casually, shaking out a red and yellow blanket or tarp in an unstaged outdoor moment.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a handwritten title card, two adults, a light hat, a headscarf, a red and yellow blanket or tarp, grass, trees, and dappled sunlight.
Film character: The clip has strong 8mm grain, warm color saturation, uneven exposure, and a contact-print feel that reads as original home-movie material.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short insert, memory beat, or transition between travel, camping, family gathering, or rural outdoor sequences.
Historical context: The scene offers a small social detail of people handling outdoor gear in a wooded setting, without supporting claims about the trip or group beyond the title card.
Research note: Adults are visible and may require likeness review; no logos, children, or private interiors are visible, and copyright status is separate from publicity or property concerns.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1970s 8mm Montana home movie, people shaking blanket in woods, outdoor family travel footage, and vintage camping cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel material, then other 1975 Agate Springs footage, then broader 1970s rural outdoor or camping home movies.
