Giant Dandelion Sprinklers Spraying Water At Night — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1969, this vintage home movie captures a surreal nighttime scene in Sacramento, California. Giant dandelion-shaped sprinklers spray water in wide arcs, their metallic spokes glowing under artificial light against a dark sky. The water creates a misty, dreamlike atmosphere as the fountains operate in unison. Silhouetted trees and a building frame the scene, with the grainy, blue-tinted quality of the Super 8 footage enhancing its nostalgic, retro charm. This archival clip offers a unique glimpse into mid-century public art and urban design.
