Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1981 8mm military aviation footage useful for documentary or educational sequences needing Beale AFB air show or aircraft display context.
Period detail: Visible clues include 1980s civilian clothing, color home-movie stock, a camouflaged F-4 Phantom II, and tail markings reading RENO and AF 64 021.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot feel as civilians stand near the aircraft, look up at details, and move casually around the tarmac display.
What appears in frame: The frames show a camouflaged fighter jet, RENO tail marking, nose close-ups, landing gear, civilians, a control tower, parked aircraft, and bright tarmac.
Film character: The 8mm scan carries saturated daylight color, visible grain, soft focus at the frame edges, and handheld framing typical of home-movie aviation footage.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, aircraft detail cutaway, transition from base exterior to aviation subject, or memory beat from a public display.
Historical context: The footage documents civilians viewing a military jet on an air base tarmac, suggesting public access or display activity without confirming a specific event.
Research note: People and military aircraft markings are visible, so copyright, likeness, trademark-style markings, and site-access context should be reviewed separately.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1981 Beale AFB 8mm footage, F-4 Phantom II on display, civilians at air base, and vintage military aviation home movie.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then other Beale AFB 1981 clips, then broader 1980s U.S. military aircraft display material.
