Troy New York USA-1973: A High Rise Building With Balconies Has A Covered Parking Lot

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

A 5-second 8mm static exterior suits documentary or educational productions covering 1970s American residential architecture or Sunbelt urban development.

Period detail

Flat-canopy covered parking, slab high-rise with continuous balconies, and utility poles are consistent with early-1970s American residential development; visible palm trees may indicate a Sunbelt rather than upstate New York location.

Home-movie behavior

Shot from an elevated or window vantage with a near-static frame, suggesting a visitor documenting a notable building in their travel environment rather than a personal home setting.

What appears in frame

Tall white high-rise tower with repeating balconies, flat-canopy covered parking structure, palm trees, utility poles, parked cars beneath canopies, overcast sky, visible film grain and dark frame borders.

Film character

Aged 8mm color stock with a cool blue-gray shift, visible grain, dark frame borders, and a minor circular scratch artifact in later frames lend an authentic mid-century home-movie texture.

Edit role

Works as a static establishing shot or architectural cutaway in segments on 1970s American residential development, urban housing, or Sunbelt travel footage sequences.

Historical context

High-rise slab apartment towers with covered parking were a common feature of postwar American urban growth, especially in warmer-climate states; the building style and palm trees suggest a Sunbelt residential context.

Research note

No individuals are visible; the depicted building is private residential property and architectural copyright may apply in some jurisdictions; the location label should be independently verified before use in factual productions.
