Troy New York USA-1973: Man And Woman Carry Boxes Outside Covered Entrance

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Fits editorial requests for 1970s American everyday life, serving as B-roll or memory-beat footage for documentaries about relocation, community life, or suburban Americana.

Period detail

The man's pink short-sleeve shirt, the woman's flared trousers, a repurposed shopping cart as hand-truck, and the mid-century building canopy all suggest early-to-mid 1970s.

Home-movie behavior

Both subjects appear unaware of the camera in close-up, carrying out a practical moving or delivery task without staging—typical candid home-movie behavior.

What appears in frame

Older white-haired man in pink shirt, woman in green shirt with white box, shopping cart, covered metal canopy, concrete columns, trimmed hedges, yellow painted curb, concrete walkway.

Film character

Warm 8mm grain, mild color shift toward yellow-green, slight motion blur on moving figures, and natural daylight exposure give the clip authentic scanned home-movie texture.

Edit role

Works as a documentary insert or cutaway evoking 1970s American community life, a moving-day memory beat, or a transitional shot between interior and exterior scenes.

Historical context

Using a shopping cart as an informal hand-truck for hauling household goods was common practice in mid-century American apartment communities during moves.

Research note

Adult faces are clearly identifiable in frames 0 and 1; likeness rights should be assessed before editorial use—these appear to be private individuals on semi-private property.
