Kansas USA-1958: Man With Shotgun Walking Through Bushes

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Suits documentary or educational productions needing authentic 1950s American hunting or rural outdoor recreation footage in 8mm color.

Period detail

The man's camouflage-style hunting jacket, pale cap, and long firearm may reflect mid-century American sporting dress; late-autumn leafless vegetation is consistent with a 1958 date.

Home-movie behavior

Shot from a companion's perspective tracking the hunter through dense brush, giving the clip the candid, unposed quality of a private hunting-trip record.

What appears in frame

Man in camouflage jacket and pale cap, long-barreled firearm held upright, dense mixed green-brown brush, bare and semi-leafed shrubs, pale blue sky, dried autumn grasses, two distant figures in open frost-covered field.

Film character

Warm color shift, visible 8mm grain, and slight exposure variation across frames give it the soft, faded palette of late-1950s amateur color reversal film.

Edit role

Works as a cutaway insert establishing period hunting activity or as a memory-beat in documentary sequences evoking mid-century rural American life.

Historical context

Recreational hunting with long firearms was a widespread leisure activity in 1950s Middle America; the camouflage clothing and hunting cap reflect period sporting-goods styles.

Research note

At least one adult face is visible across multiple frames; likeness rights for identifiable individuals require separate assessment before commercial use — subjects are not cleared.
