Idaho USA-1955: Me And My Auntie Linda At Her 40th Birthday Party

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Fits mid-century American domestic documentary requests — birthday celebrations, postwar family life, and 1950s kitchen interiors for historical inserts.

Period detail

A white refrigerator with period hardware, a full plaid skirt, and warm Kodachrome-like saturation are consistent with mid-1950s middle-class American domestic interiors.

Home-movie behavior

Unstaged filming of a family member assembling and then presenting a birthday cake captures an intimate, unscripted domestic moment with no awareness of the camera.

What appears in frame

Red sweater, plaid skirt, layered cream cake, lit birthday candles, white period refrigerator, wooden table surface, mixing bowls, and partially visible gathered figures.

Film character

Warm orange cast, visible grain, and slight exposure drift are characteristic of period 8mm color reversal stock, lending authentic texture for archival documentary use.

Edit role

Suited as a memory beat, domestic cutaway, or brief insert in a 1950s American family portrait or postwar social history sequence.

Historical context

The white refrigerator with period hardware and the full plaid skirt are consistent with mid-century American domestic life; no specific household or location detail is identifiable from the frames alone.

Research note

Adult figures are partially visible throughout; faces are not clearly shown in these frames, but the private home interior setting requires standard editorial clearance review before commercial use.
