Two Synchronized Swimmers Perform at Night — Clip Details

ATLANTA GEORGIA USA-1951: Vintage 8mm home movie footage captures two female synchronized swimmers performing in a dark pool at night. Their bodies emerge from the water, illuminated by a warm, orange-toned light source, creating a dramatic silhouette effect. The swimmers execute graceful, synchronized movements, including arm raises and mid-stroke poses, with one briefly bringing her hand to her face. The grainy, high-contrast image and visible film edge are characteristic of 1950s amateur Super 8 footage. This nostalgic clip offers authentic archival material for documentaries, historical projects, or retro-themed content.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s 8mm footage for requests needing nighttime pool recreation, synchronized swimming, or mid-century amateur leisure material for documentary and editorial edits.
Period detail: The dark exposure, warm pool lighting, and small-gauge film frame may show a 1951 home-movie record of a staged or recreational swim performance in Atlanta.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an informal spectator viewpoint as two swimmers perform coordinated gestures for the camera rather than a polished broadcast angle.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include two swimmers, dark pool water, raised arms, orange highlights on faces and hands, heavy grain, frame edges, and a contact-sheet layout.
Film character: The footage has dense grain, low-light exposure, soft focus, warm color shifts, and visible gate edges that read as authentic 8mm home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, memory beat, or transitional cutaway for mid-century leisure, water performance, or nighttime recreation sequences.
Historical context: The scene suggests organized or playful aquatic performance in a private or local pool setting, without enough visual evidence to identify the venue or event.
Research note: People are visible and faces may be partly identifiable, so likeness review may be needed; copyright and any location or performer permissions should be checked separately.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1951 Atlanta 8mm synchronized swimmers, vintage home movie night pool, two women swimming performance, and 1950s aquatic recreation.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then other 1951 Atlanta material, then broader 1950s swimming, pool recreation, or nighttime home-movie scenes.
