Atlanta Georgia USA-1951: Synchronized Swimming Performance At Night, Matching Suits

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Useful for 1950s editorial projects needing brief archival footage of nighttime synchronized swimming or community recreation in Atlanta, Georgia.

Period detail

The dim pool setting, matching dark swim costumes, and 8mm color home-movie texture support a mid-century recreational performance context.

Home-movie behavior

The footage preserves a spectator's view of swimmers performing for an audience, with emphasis on bodies and arms emerging from dark water.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include dark pool water, swimmers in matching suits, raised arms, faces lit by warm light, faint lane or water lines, and film gate edges.

Film character

The clip has dense grain, low-light exposure, soft focus, and visible frame borders that give it a physical 8mm archival texture.

Edit role

An editor could use it as a short insert, memory beat, or transition for mid-century sports, recreation, public pools, or group performance sequences.

Historical context

The scene shows organized aquatic performance as local leisure or exhibition culture, though the specific venue and event are not identifiable from the frames.

Research note

People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed separately from copyright, with no logos or private property apparent in these frames.
