Old Car Parked By The River — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm home movie footage from Wisconsin USA in 1957, showing a classic dark blue 1950s sedan parked beside a flowing river. The car, a Mercury or similar model with chrome trim and whitewall tires, sits on a gravel bank near a rocky shoreline. Bare trees and a distant hillside suggest early spring. The footage captures the car from multiple angles, including a view from a bridge, with natural sunlight and the characteristic grain and color palette of 8mm film. This authentic archival clip evokes mid-century Americana and nostalgia.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s Wisconsin home-movie requests needing a short riverbank cutaway with a mid-century sedan and rural roadside atmosphere.
Period detail: The dark blue chrome-trim sedan, whitewall tires, 8mm color stock, bare trees, and gravel river edge support a late-1950s setting.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes the parked car and river from nearby roadside and bridge-like viewpoints, giving the clip an unstaged family-travel record feel.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a dark blue sedan, chrome bumper, white roof, river water, rocky shoreline, bridge structure, bare trees, hillside, and a distant small figure.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm grain, mild exposure variation, blue-green color drift, and handheld framing that read as authentic physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, travel transition, memory beat, or transportation cutaway in a mid-century Americana sequence.
Historical context: The scene reflects everyday roadside leisure or travel near a Wisconsin river, with the automobile framed as part of the family home-movie record.
Research note: Visible car badging or design details and a distant person may require review for trademark, likeness, and contextual use; copyright clearance is separate.
Research search match: Searches such as 1957 Wisconsin 8mm river car, 1950s sedan by river, home movie classic car, and mid-century roadside footage may match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then other Wisconsin 1957 material, then broader 1950s river, road trip, and classic-car home movies.
