Wisconsin USA-1957: Women Bathing At Lake House

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Useful for 1950s U.S. leisure, family vacation, lake-house, and summer recreation sequences in documentary or museum edits.

Period detail

The one-piece bathing suits, 8mm color stock, simple backyard setting, and metadata-supported 1957 Wisconsin location place the scene in mid-century domestic leisure.

Home-movie behavior

The women appear aware of the camera, with one smiling as she walks through the yard, giving the clip an unstaged family home-movie quality.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include two women in bathing suits, trees, a small building, a white fence, a green tarp-covered structure, windows, a wood door, and flower planters.

Film character

The footage has soft 8mm color, visible grain, mild fading, and handheld framing that support its physical home-movie texture.

Edit role

An editor could use it as a brief summer memory beat, lake-house cutaway, or transition into mid-century family vacation material.

Historical context

The scene shows informal outdoor recreation around a wooded house or cabin setting, reflecting domestic leisure rather than a public event.

Research note

People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; copyright, privacy, and any property concerns should be assessed separately.
