Woman Fishing In Boat On Lake With Mountains — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm home movie footage from Washington USA in 1940 shows a woman in a headscarf and coat fishing from a small boat on a calm lake. She reels in her line with focused concentration, her face captured in close-up as she handles the rod. The scene widens to reveal a man in the boat with her, surrounded by serene water and distant tree-lined hills under an overcast sky. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s Washington home-movie sequences about lake recreation, fishing, boating, travel, and personal outdoor leisure.
Period detail: The clothing, small boat, simple fishing gear, and black-and-white 8mm handling support a 1940-era home-movie view, with no visible landmarks identified.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the casual, unstaged handling of a fishing rod, with close views of concentration and a wider glimpse of companions on the lake.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in a headscarf, a fishing rod and reel, a small boat, calm lake water, distant wooded hills, mountains, and another person aboard.
Film character: The clip has soft focus, visible grain, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that preserve the texture of scanned 8mm home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief insert, memory beat, recreation cutaway, or transition within a sequence about lakeside travel or family leisure.
Historical context: The footage shows ordinary outdoor recreation in Washington, presenting fishing and boating as a personal home-movie subject rather than a documented public event.
Research note: People are visible, including identifiable faces, so likeness review may be needed in addition to any separate copyright or collection-use assessment.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1940 Washington 8mm lake fishing, vintage home movie boat on mountain lake, woman fishing, and black-and-white outdoor recreation footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then Washington 1940 lake material, then broader 1940s fishing, boating, mountains, and family travel scenes.
