Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s editorial or documentary requests needing quiet summer recreation at a lake or swimming area in Ocean City, New Jersey.
Period detail: The 8mm color, simple floating dock, buoy line, and casual swim setting may show late-1960s home-movie leisure detail without identifiable landmarks.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an unstaged family-film feel, observing people relaxing on a small dock and moving in the water from a distant shoreline vantage point.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include calm blue water, a white floating dock, distant people, a yellow-and-white buoy line, wooded shoreline, ripples, and dark film-frame edges.
Film character: The footage shows saturated 8mm color, soft focus, visible grain, mild exposure variation, and dark gate edges that read as original home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a summer memory insert, waterfront cutaway, transition between recreation scenes, or quiet establishing beat.
Historical context: The scene documents ordinary outdoor leisure around a designated swim area, with people small in frame and the wooded shore providing a nonurban backdrop.
Research note: People are visible at a distance, so likeness review may still apply, while copyright and any location permissions should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1968 Ocean City New Jersey 8mm lake swimming, vintage buoy line dock, 1960s home movie waterfront recreation, and summer swim area.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Ocean City 1968 footage, then broader 1960s family swimming and lakeside recreation scenes.
