Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Fits documentary requests for 1960s American social history, formal dance sequences, or prom-era inserts; the white-jacket-and-gown couple reads as period-authentic mid-century.

Period detail

Woman's strapless teal ball gown and man's white dinner jacket are consistent with mid-1960s formal eveningwear; red curtain backdrop suggests a ballroom or event hall.

Home-movie behavior

Appears shot by someone at the same event — framing shifts mid-spin and catches an unguarded close embrace, with no evidence of directed posing.

What appears in frame

Red curtain backdrop, man in white tuxedo jacket, woman in teal strapless ball gown, close dance hold, raised-arm spin, rear view of gown's fitted back, pendant light fixture, motion blur.

Film character

8mm color renders the deep red curtain and teal gown with warm saturation and fine grain, giving the frames period texture characteristic of mid-1960s amateur color film.

Edit role

Works as a memory beat or period-dress insert; the mid-spin frame offers a clean action cut point for 1960s social history, romance, or coming-of-age sequences.

Historical context

White dinner jackets for men and full-length strapless gowns were standard mid-1960s American formal attire; formal dances were a prominent social ritual of the era.
