Saint Louis Missouri USA-1965: Man And Woman Dance At A Formal Party

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Serves documentary and commercial productions needing authentic mid-1960s American formal social life — private party or gala dancing in period dress.

Period detail

The woman's light blue strapless gown with satin sash and the man's white dinner jacket are consistent with mid-1960s American formal wear; the draped curtain backdrop suggests a ballroom or event hall.

Home-movie behavior

The close handheld framing and the couple's natural, relaxed movements suggest an intimate record made by someone personally acquainted with the dancers.

What appears in frame

A woman in a light blue strapless gown with silver sash and a man in a white dinner jacket dance before dark red draped curtains; motion blur and unsteady framing appear throughout.

Film character

Warm, slightly desaturated 8mm color with visible grain, soft motion blur during turns, and edge vignetting give the footage the intimate texture of mid-1960s amateur color film.

Edit role

Works as a standalone memory beat or brief insert in sequences about American social life, romance, or mid-century formal events; short enough for a single illustrative cutaway.

Historical context

White dinner jackets and formal ballgowns reflect mid-1960s American social customs around private galas; the home-movie format suggests this was a personally significant occasion for the filmmaker.

Research note

Adult faces are visible and potentially identifiable in multiple frames; likeness rights are not cleared and require human review; no visible logos or clearly identifiable branded property.
