Woman Laying By The Pool With Friends — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm home movie footage from Boston, USA, in 1975, capturing a candid backyard poolside gathering. A woman in a patterned dress, sunglasses, and a blue cap is the central focus, smiling and interacting with friends. In the background, a shirtless man with long hair and sunglasses relaxes in a folding chair, while others lounge on colorful patio furniture. The scene is bathed in a distinct purple hue, characteristic of aged film, with visible grain and a checkered tile floor. The handheld camera captures natural, unposed moments of summer leisure and social connection.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: This 1970s Boston 8mm home-movie clip supports editorial requests for casual summer leisure, poolside social life, and candid adult friendship scenes.
Period detail: The patterned dress, cap, sunglasses, folding patio chairs, checkered paving, and aged color shift may show mid-1970s backyard pool style and home-movie filming habits.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the relaxed, unstaged exchange as a woman smiles and turns toward the camera while friends sit and move casually around the pool area.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in a patterned dress, blue cap and sunglasses, a scarf at her neck, shirtless seated adults, folding patio chairs, checkered paving, a pool edge, and a wood fence.
Film character: The footage has a handheld 8mm look with soft focus, visible grain, purple-magenta color fading, uneven exposure, and contact-print framing that reads as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, transition, or memory beat for 1970s summer recreation, private social gatherings, or informal domestic leisure.
Historical context: The clip shows adults gathered around a backyard-style pool setting, offering social context for casual warm-weather recreation without supporting broader claims about Boston culture.
Research note: People are clearly visible, so likeness and privacy review may be needed in addition to separate copyright clearance, while no logos or audible music are indicated.
Research search match: Useful researcher searches include 1975 Boston home movie poolside friends, 1970s backyard pool gathering 8mm, woman sunglasses cap vintage pool, and candid summer leisure Super 8.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then with Boston or 1975 home-movie material, and then with related poolside, summer leisure, friends, and domestic gathering footage.
