Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for editorial projects needing 1970s Boston-area home-movie footage of friends socializing around a backyard pool in summer.
Period detail: The visible patio furniture, patterned shirt, caps, pool ladder, and faded 8mm color response support a mid-1970s domestic leisure setting without identifying a specific neighborhood or property.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves casual, unstaged poolside interaction as people sit, turn toward the camera, smile, and move through the frame in a familiar backyard setting.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a checker-pattern pool deck, metal pool ladder, folding lounge chairs, a wooden fence or shed wall, a woman in a patterned shirt and blue cap, seated adults, and a striped towel or garment.
Film character: The footage has strong purple color shift, soft focus, visible grain, uneven exposure, and handheld framing consistent with aged 8mm home-movie material.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief memory beat, social-life cutaway, or transitional insert for 1970s summer recreation and informal friendship scenes.
Historical context: The scene reflects private domestic leisure and adult socializing around a backyard pool, with clothing and outdoor furnishings providing broad 1970s visual context.
Research note: People are clearly visible and likeness review is needed, while no logos or audible music are indicated and copyright clearance remains separate from personality or property considerations.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1970s 8mm pool party home movie, Boston backyard pool friends, vintage summer lounging footage, and Super 8 domestic leisure scene.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent material from the same reel, then with other Boston 1975 home movies, and then with broader 1970s summer pool or friends-at-leisure footage.
