Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s Michigan home-movie footage for productions needing a brief summer recreation insert with a woman water skiing on a lake.
Period detail: The swimsuit, orange life vest, tow rope and 8mm color home-movie look support an early 1960s leisure scene without visible brands or landmarks.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged vacation value as the skier passes the camera while balancing, turning and throwing spray behind her.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman water skiing, orange life vest, tow rope, blue lake water, white spray, distant tree-lined shore and dark film-frame borders.
Film character: The footage carries 8mm texture with soft focus, visible grain, modest color fading, slight exposure variation and dark rounded frame edges.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short recreation insert, summer-memory cutaway, lake-life transition or visual beat in a family vacation sequence.
Historical context: The scene reflects mid-century recreational lake culture through visible water skiing gear, casual swimwear and a tree-lined inland setting.
Research note: A person is visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos, private property or music are evident from the supplied metadata and frames.
Research search match: Useful search phrases include 1960s Michigan lake water skiing, 8mm home movie summer recreation and woman in orange life vest water skiing.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with same-reel lake or vacation footage, then Michigan 1961 material, then broader 1960s water sports and summer leisure scenes.
