Man In Swim Shorts Slalom Water Skiing On Lake In A Dry — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm home movie footage from Michigan, USA, in 1961, showing a man in swim shorts water skiing on a calm lake. The shirtless man glides across the water, leaving a white wake behind him as he performs a slalom maneuver. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for requests needing 1960s American home-movie lake recreation, especially documentary or museum edits about summer leisure and water skiing.
Period detail: The swim shorts, small slalom ski setup, 8mm color stock, and casual lake setting may show mid-century recreational boating culture in Michigan.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged family-film value, watching a shirtless skier cross the lake from a distant shoreline or boat-side perspective.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a shirtless male water skier, tow rope, single ski, blue lake water, white spray, wooded shoreline, and dark film-frame borders.
Film character: The footage carries 8mm texture through soft focus, visible grain, slight color fading, gate borders, and modest handheld framing.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief insert, memory beat, recreational cutaway, or transition within a sequence about lakeside holidays or outdoor sport.
Historical context: The scene reflects recreational lake use and informal vacation filming, with no visible landmarks or named event beyond the supplied Michigan 1961 metadata.
Research note: A person is visible at distance, so likeness review may still be needed; no visible logos or private property are apparent, and copyright clearance is separate.
Research search match: Likely matches searches for 1961 Michigan 8mm home movie water skiing, vintage lake recreation, slalom skier, and mid-century summer vacation footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then Michigan 1961 lake material, then broader 1960s family vacation and water-sport footage.
