Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for requests needing 1960s Michigan home-movie footage of summer lake recreation, water skiing, and amateur family leisure for documentary or educational edits.
Period detail: The orange life preserver, patterned swimwear, tow rope, and black water skis may show early 1960s recreational boating style in a Midwestern lake setting.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged home-movie view of a woman balancing on water skis while being pulled across a calm lake.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in an orange life preserver, yellow tow rope, black water skis, lake water, spray, shoreline shadow, and film-frame borders.
Film character: Soft focus, visible grain, slight blur, uneven exposure, and contact-print edges give the footage a clear 8mm home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, summer-memory beat, recreation cutaway, or transition within sequences about lakes, family vacations, or mid-century leisure.
Historical context: The footage documents ordinary lake recreation and women’s participation in water sports within a 1961 Michigan home-movie context.
Research note: A person is visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos or private property are apparent, and copyright clearance should be checked separately from appearance rights.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1961 Michigan 8mm water skiing, woman in life preserver on lake, vintage home movie lake recreation, and mid-century summer sports footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then other 1961 Michigan lake scenes, then broader 1960s home-movie boating, swimming, and summer recreation footage.
