Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s Michigan summer recreation requests needing authentic home-movie boating and water-skiing footage.
Period detail: The small motorboat, swimsuits, 8mm color stock, and casual lake setting support an early-1960s leisure scene.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged family or vacation perspective as people ride a motorboat and ski across open water.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a green-and-white motorboat, adult riders, water skiers, lake surface, white wake, distant wooded shore, and film frame borders.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm grain, mild exposure variation, handheld framing, and dark gate edges that give it physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief recreation insert, summer memory beat, lake-life cutaway, or transition within a mid-century home-movie sequence.
Historical context: The scene reflects mid-century recreational boating and water skiing on a Michigan lake without indicating a specific event or named location.
Research note: People and faces are visible at a distance, so likeness review may be needed; no logos or private property are apparent, and copyright status is separate from appearance clearance.
Research search match: 1961 Michigan 8mm home movie water skiing, vintage lake boating, early 1960s summer recreation, family vacation water-ski footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with same-reel summer or boating shots, then Michigan 1961 lake material, then broader 1960s water-sport and family recreation footage.
