Looking Out Over The Pool Of A Huge Resort With Palm Trees — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm film footage from Spain in 1972 captures a sun-drenched resort scene. The view, framed by dark window edges, shows a large swimming pool surrounded by thatched umbrellas and lounge chairs. Lush green palm trees and tropical foliage fill the foreground and midground, with a massive multi-story hotel building rising in the background. The image has a distinct retro color palette with faded blues and greens, characteristic of 1970s home movie film. The camera remains mostly static, offering a nostalgic glimpse of a classic European vacation spot.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s Spain home-movie resort footage suited to documentary or educational requests for European package-holiday atmosphere, poolside leisure, and vacation architecture.
Period detail: The clip may show early-1970s resort details including thatched pool umbrellas, rows of sun loungers, a large balcony-front hotel, and a visitor view framed from behind a dark window or doorway.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the casual traveler perspective, looking out across the pool area rather than staging a formal view of the hotel grounds.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a large swimming pool, thatched parasols, lounge chairs, palms, dense garden planting, a multi-story resort hotel, dark frame edges, and distant sea or bright horizon.
Film character: The 8mm image has soft focus, visible gate framing, high sun exposure, blue-green color fade, and slight home-movie instability that give it period texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short establishing insert, vacation-memory cutaway, transition into a resort sequence, or visual bridge for 1970s leisure travel.
Historical context: The scene reflects a visitor's view of organized resort leisure in Spain, with hotel architecture and pool amenities presented as part of the holiday environment.
Research note: Human figures appear small or indistinct, no readable brands are visible, and copyright, likeness, and possible location or property permissions should be reviewed separately before publication.
Research search match: Useful searches might include 1972 Spain 8mm resort pool, 1970s Spanish hotel swimming pool, vintage home movie vacation resort, and Super 8 palm trees hotel pool.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with other Spain 1972 resort or hotel material, then with broader 1970s vacation, poolside leisure, and Mediterranean travel footage.
