Vintage 8mm footage from Portugal in 1972 shows a weathered blue fishing boat named 'NS DA NAZARE' resting on a sandy beach. The boat, painted in faded blue with a white star and black lettering, sits at an angle with its bow facing the ocean. Gentle waves roll onto the shore behind it under a bright sky. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: This clip supports archival requests for 1970s Portuguese coastal life, fishing craft, beach details, and quiet maritime cutaways for documentary or educational edits.
Period detail: The faded painted wooden boat, visible registration-style lettering, simple beach setting, and 8mm color rendition may show everyday coastal Portugal in the early 1970s.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has the feel of a visitor or family camera pausing on a working boat at the shoreline rather than a staged travel or industrial setup.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a blue wooden fishing boat marked NS DA NAZARE, a white star on the hull, sandy beach, wooden ramp or planks, ocean surf, bright sky, and small distant human figures near boats.
Film character: The scan carries 8mm home-movie texture with soft focus, visible grain, mild color shift toward blue and purple, uneven exposure, and slight handheld instability.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short establishing insert, coastal transition, maritime memory beat, or cutaway between broader Portugal travel or fishing-community scenes.
Historical context: The clip visually situates a named fishing boat on a Portuguese beach and suggests local maritime work or display without proving a specific port activity or event.
Research note: Human figures appear distant and not individually identifiable, while the vessel name and markings should be reviewed separately from copyright, likeness, and any property or trademark concerns.
Research search match: Relevant researcher searches include 1972 Portugal 8mm fishing boat on beach, Nazaré-style coastal boat home movie, blue wooden boat by Atlantic surf, and Portuguese seaside archive footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with neighboring shots from the same reel, then with other Portugal 1972 coastal material, and finally with broader themes of fishing boats, beaches, and European home-movie travel.
