Bridge Over Large Body Of Water Leading Into City — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm home movie footage from Portugal in 1972, capturing a panoramic view of Lisbon's skyline with the iconic 25 de Abril Bridge spanning the Tagus River. The clip shows densely packed buildings with traditional tiled roofs under a clear blue sky, with boats moving across the water. The film exhibits classic Super 8 grain, color shifts, and a slightly faded aesthetic characteristic of 1970s amateur footage. The camera remains steady, offering a nostalgic glimpse of the city's historic architecture and waterfront, perfect for documentaries, travel montages, or retro-themed projects.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s Portugal home-movie skyline footage suited to archival requests for Lisbon waterfront travel, bridge approaches, and city establishing views.
Period detail: The clip shows a broad urban waterfront with dense low-rise buildings, tiled roofs, small boats, and a suspension bridge identified by metadata as Lisbon's 25 de Abril Bridge over the Tagus River in 1972.
Home-movie behavior: The view has a visitor-shot vantage point from above the city, lingering on the landmark bridge and waterfront rather than staging any action.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include the blue river, suspension bridge towers, city rooftops, waterfront buildings, distant shoreline, small boats, clear sky, and rounded 8mm frame edges.
Film character: The footage carries 8mm home-movie texture with visible grain, slight softness, blue-purple color shift, steady framing, and mild exposure variation across the short shot.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief establishing insert, travel-memory transition, or historical cutaway for Lisbon, Portugal, river crossings, or 1970s tourism.
Historical context: The scene places Lisbon's waterfront and bridge within a casual amateur travel record, emphasizing the cityscape and river setting rather than a narrated public event.
Research note: No people, faces, logos, or audible music are indicated, but users should still review copyright status and any property or landmark-use considerations for their specific distribution.
Research search match: Useful search phrases include 1972 Portugal 8mm home movie, Lisbon skyline over Tagus River, 25 de Abril Bridge vintage travel footage, and 1970s European waterfront city view.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Portugal or Lisbon 1972 material, then broader 1970s bridge, river, city skyline, and travel footage.
