About 22,700 city and street clips, peaking in the 1960s. This is the city as a passerby saw it, filmed from the sidewalk and the slow-moving car rather than the postcard angle.
Storefronts and signage, traffic and crowds, downtowns before the malls emptied them, neon at night. New York and California lead, mostly on standard 8mm and Super 8.

Street footage suits urban and nostalgia campaigns, social-history and true-crime documentaries, and period scenes that need a real downtown of the decade, signage and cars included. The storefront pan and the crowded-sidewalk shot are constant pulls.
The 1950s streets are dense and prosperous, full of independent stores and chrome. The 1960s, the peak, catch downtowns at their busiest. The 1970s show the first signs of decline, with more empty frontage and harder light.
