A vintage 8mm home movie from 1962 captures a mother in a blue and white striped swimsuit and white swim cap helping her young son into a backyard pool in Van Nuys, California. The toddler, wearing patterned swim trunks, is initially hesitant before being gently guided into the water by his mother, who smiles as he holds a red and white toy. A man, likely the father, is partially visible in the pool. The scene unfolds on a sunny day with a brick wall and a metal lounge chair in the background, showcasing the warm, slightly faded colors and film grain characteristic of Super 8 footage.
