Man Playing Golf With Broken Putter In Dark — Clip Details

A man in a white shirt and dark pants plays golf on a grassy course in Ridgefield, New Jersey, in 1961. Shot on 8mm film, the footage shows him attempting to putt with a visibly bent or broken putter. The scene is bathed in a strong blue-purple color cast, likely from film degradation or lighting, with grainy texture and soft focus typical of vintage home movies. He stands near a golf bag, focused on the ball, capturing a candid moment of amateur recreation from the early 1960s.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s recreational life, amateur sports, or home-movie inserts showing a man golfing in Ridgefield, New Jersey.
Period detail: The clothing, 8mm color stock, golf bag, and metadata-supported 1961 setting place the scene in early 1960s amateur leisure footage.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged value in the man's focused, slightly awkward attempt to putt with a visibly bent club near his golf bag.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a man in a white shirt and dark pants, a bent putter, a golf ball, grass, a golf bag, and dark frame edges.
Film character: The footage carries dense grain, soft focus, blue-purple color shift, low exposure, and contact-print darkness typical of aged 8mm home movies.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, memory beat, or comic insert within sequences about golf, leisure, aging film, or family recreation.
Historical context: The scene documents ordinary recreational golf rather than a formal sporting event, with the camera staying close to a single amateur player.
Research note: A person's likeness is visible, so users should review model or publicity rights separately from copyright and any location considerations.
Research search match: Search match phrases include 1961 Ridgefield New Jersey golf home movie, 8mm man putting, broken putter footage, and vintage amateur sports.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then other 1961 Ridgefield material, then broader home-movie scenes of golf or recreation.
