View Of Pink Blooming Foxglove Flowers — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1964, this vintage home movie captures a close-up view of tall pink foxglove flowers blooming in a garden. The footage features rich, saturated colors with a distinct vintage film grain and slight color bleeding typical of Super 8. The flowers stand out against a dark, shadowy background, with green leaves and stems visible. A small green plant tag is briefly seen, suggesting a cultivated setting. The camera remains mostly static, focusing on the delicate, bell-shaped blossoms in natural daylight.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s color 8mm garden footage suited for documentary cutaways, seasonal transitions, or domestic nature inserts from Saint Louis, Missouri.
Period detail: The cultivated flower bed and visible plant tag may show a mid-1960s home garden or nursery-style planting, with no identifiable landmark or public event visible.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has the quiet observational quality of a home movie, holding close on blooming foxglove rather than staging action or people.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include tall pink foxglove blossoms, green leaves and stems, a dark shadowed garden background, a small plant tag, and a partial planter edge.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows saturated color, soft focus, visible grain, slight color bleed, and uneven exposure that give the short flower study its archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a floral insert, garden cutaway, seasonal memory beat, or quiet transition between family or outdoor scenes.
Historical context: The footage documents a cultivated flowering plant in a domestic or garden setting, offering visual context for everyday outdoor leisure in the 1960s.
Research note: No people, faces, logos, or audible music are indicated, but plant labels and garden/property context should still be reviewed separately from copyright clearance.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1960s 8mm garden flowers, Saint Louis Missouri home movie foxglove, vintage pink blooming flowers, and archival home garden footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1964 Saint Louis material, then broader 1960s garden, flower, and home-movie nature footage.
