Two Skiers Riding A Chairlift — Clip Details

Two men in winter coats and ski gear ride a red chairlift through a snowy mountain landscape in New Hampshire, 1962. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures the vintage charm of mid-century skiing with soft focus, film grain, and slightly faded colors. The skiers sit side-by-side, their skis dangling as the lift ascends, offering panoramic views of snow-covered peaks under a clear blue sky. The scene evokes a sense of nostalgia and outdoor recreation from the early 1960s.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports 1960s New Hampshire recreation and ski-resort sequences for documentary, education, museum, or editorial productions needing authentic home-movie winter footage.
Period detail: Visible period clues include 8mm color stock, mid-century winter clothing, long skis, simple chairlift seating, and a red lift frame in a snowy mountain setting.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has an unstaged visitor perspective, moving between skiers on snow and two men seated side-by-side on a chairlift with skis hanging freely.
What appears in frame: Frames show two adult men on a red chairlift, dangling skis, blue sky, snowy slopes, distant mountains, evergreen trees, and a brief view of skiers standing on the snow.
Film character: The 8mm image carries soft focus, visible grain, faded color, uneven exposure, and slight framing instability consistent with home-movie ski footage.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a winter recreation insert, ski-trip transition, chairlift cutaway, or quiet memory beat within a 1960s travel sequence.
Historical context: The clip documents recreational skiing as seen by a home-movie camera, with emphasis on chairlift travel, outdoor clothing, and mountain scenery rather than organized competition.
Research note: Adult faces are visible and may require likeness review, while no logos, children, audible music, or clearly identifiable private property are apparent in the provided frames.
Research search match: Likely matches searches for 1962 New Hampshire skiing, vintage 8mm chairlift footage, two men on ski lift, and 1960s home movie winter recreation.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other footage from the same reel, then New Hampshire 1962 winter material, then broader 1960s skiing, chairlift, and mountain recreation clips.
