The View Of An Open Field With A Picnic Table And A... — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1975, this vintage footage captures a serene view of a park in Sweden. The scene features a distinctive modern sculpture made of vertical metal pipes, set against a backdrop of lush green trees and a clear blue sky. A wooden picnic table sits in the foreground on a paved area, with a bicycle partially visible in the lower left corner. The image is framed by dark borders, suggesting it was filmed through a window or viewfinder, adding to its nostalgic, home movie quality. The overall mood is calm and quiet, evoking a sense of peaceful summer leisure.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s Sweden park atmosphere, public-space cutaways, or documentary edits needing a quiet outdoor modern-sculpture view on 8mm film.
Period detail: The scene may show mid-1970s leisure-space design through the paved park setting, simple wooden bench or table, and modern vertical metal sculpture.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot perspective, observing a public park feature from a fixed, slightly distant position without staged action.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a vertical metal pipe sculpture, trees, blue sky, paved ground, grass, a wooden bench or picnic table, a rocky base, and part of a bicycle.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft grain, saturated blue sky, slight exposure falloff, and dark frame edges that contribute to its home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a calm establishing insert, park transition, travel-memory beat, or visual pause between more active 1970s Sweden scenes.
Historical context: The footage documents a quiet public outdoor space where modern sculpture, landscaping, seating, and casual cycling share the same summer park view.
Research note: No people, faces, logos, or obvious private property are visible, but copyright and any site-specific sculpture or property permissions should be reviewed separately.
Research search match: Searches such as 1975 Sweden 8mm park sculpture, Swedish public art home movie, 1970s park bench cutaway, or vintage Sweden outdoor scene may match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with neighboring reel shots, then other Sweden 1975 material, then broader 1970s public parks, modern sculpture, quiet travel, and outdoor leisure footage.
