View Of Old Faithful Geyser Sign With Eruption In Background — Clip Details

WYOMING-1939: Vintage 8mm film footage captures the Old Faithful Geyser erupting in the background as a sign provides information about the famous landmark. The scene unfolds on a sunny day with steam rising from the geyser, set against a backdrop of forested hills. A person in light-colored clothing walks past the sign, adding a sense of scale and human presence. The film exhibits natural grain, slight color fading, and authentic home movie imperfections, offering a nostalgic glimpse into mid-20th century tourism at Yellowstone National Park.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1930s Yellowstone tourism requests needing an 8mm cutaway of Old Faithful signage with a geyser eruption visible behind it.
Period detail: The sign design, visitor walkway, color 8mm stock, and 1939 metadata support a late-1930s national park travel context.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot viewpoint, holding on the interpretive sign while the eruption and a passing tourist provide scale.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include the Old Faithful Geyser sign, steam plume, geyser basin, paved walkway, dark frame edges, distant trees, and a visitor in light clothing.
Film character: The footage shows soft color, gate edges, mild jitter, grain, and exposure variation consistent with original 8mm home-movie material.
Edit role: Editors can use it as a Yellowstone insert, travelogue cutaway, landmark identifier, or memory beat between wider park scenes.
Historical context: The view places Old Faithful within a public visitor setting, showing how park landmarks were explained and photographed by travelers.
Research note: A person is visible and may require likeness review, while the sign and park setting should still be assessed separately from copyright status.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1939 Yellowstone home movies, Old Faithful geyser sign, Wyoming national park travel footage, and vintage 8mm tourism scenes.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1939 Wyoming or Yellowstone material, then broader 1930s national park tourism footage.
