Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s American home-movie requests needing an adult Halloween party, masked guests, and informal social gathering footage for documentary or editorial use.
Period detail: The indoor costumes, cartoon-style masks, hats, dresses, and warm 8mm color may show mid-century Halloween party customs in South Dakota.
Home-movie behavior: Guests sit closely together in a private room, posing and reacting casually as the home-movie camera records the party from nearby.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include seated adults, character masks, a green sweater, a floral dress and hat, wooden chair backs, party costumes, and a private interior.
Film character: The clip has warm faded color, soft focus, visible grain, uneven exposure, and slight handheld framing consistent with scanned 8mm home-movie footage.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, memory beat, or transition for Halloween, postwar domestic leisure, costume parties, or mid-century social life.
Historical context: The footage shows adults participating in a private Halloween gathering, offering visual context for informal community or household celebrations in the 1950s.
Research note: People, recognizable costume characters or masks, and a private interior are visible, so likeness, property, and possible trademark review may be needed separate from copyright status.
Research search match: Researchers may match this with searches for 1950s South Dakota Halloween party 8mm home movie, adults in costume masks, or vintage private holiday gathering footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then South Dakota or 1954 home movies, then broader Halloween party and mid-century costume gathering material.
