Fox and Cougar in Zoo Enclosures — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1949, this vintage home movie captures a fox and a cougar in separate chain-link enclosures at a Cincinnati zoo. The footage shows the fox standing alert near a feeding bowl, then moving through its enclosure, while the cougar rests nearby. The grainy, color-bleached quality of the Super 8 film adds to the nostalgic, archival feel. These scenes reflect mid-century zoo conditions and wildlife captivity, offering a rare glimpse into 1940s animal exhibits.
