View Of Water Fountain And Green Trees On A Bright Sunny Day — Clip Details

CINCINNATTI OHIO-1949: A vintage 8mm home movie captures a tranquil park scene featuring a multi-tiered fountain with water spraying upward, surrounded by lush green trees. The footage, shot on 8mm film, shows a slightly shaky handheld perspective as the camera pans across the fountain, revealing its illuminated base and the surrounding foliage. The scene is bathed in bright, natural daylight, with a distinct blueish tint and film grain characteristic of 1940s amateur footage. The overall mood is nostalgic and serene, evoking mid-century American leisure and public park life.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s-era documentary or educational edits needing a brief home-movie view of a public fountain and wooded park setting in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Period detail: The clip may show mid-century public park landscaping, with a tiered fountain, dense trees, and color 8mm exposure consistent with the stated 1949 home-movie source.
Home-movie behavior: The handheld framing and short pan suggest a visitor recording a scenic park feature rather than a staged or directed view.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a spraying fountain, circular basin, reflective water, green trees, bright sky, shaded foliage, and dark frame edges from the scan.
Film character: The footage has visible 8mm grain, soft focus, bluish color cast, exposure bloom around the water spray, and slight handheld movement that mark it as amateur physical film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a quiet cutaway, park-life insert, location transition, or memory beat between more people-centered home-movie scenes.
Historical context: The scene provides visual context for outdoor leisure and maintained public green space without showing identifiable people, signage, or activity.
Research note: No people, logos, or private property are visible in these frames, but copyright status and any location permissions should be reviewed separately.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1940s Cincinnati 8mm park footage, vintage fountain home movie, color amateur film of trees and water, and mid-century public park cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel park footage, then with other 1949 Cincinnati material, then with broader vintage fountain, trees, and public leisure scenes.
