Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s American home-movie requests needing a quiet garden pond, fountain, or leisure-setting cutaway in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Period detail: The light suit, clipped hedges, stone fountain, and 8mm color rendering may show a mid-century public or formal garden setting.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes from a fixed visitor perspective as a man walks along the pond edge, giving the scene an unstaged home-movie quality.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a pond, tiered fountain, floating platforms, clipped hedges, trees, lawn, water reflections, and a man walking near the basin.
Film character: Soft focus, visible grain, slight gate framing, and muted green color give the short 8mm scan a physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, transition, or memory beat for garden visits, urban leisure, or reflective mid-century atmosphere.
Historical context: The clip visually documents landscaped outdoor recreation and formal garden design without supporting a specific landmark identification from the frames alone.
Research note: A person is visible at distance, so likeness review may be needed; no logos are visible, and copyright, likeness, and property issues should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Research matches include 1949 8mm Cincinnati garden pond, man walking by fountain, mid-century home movie garden, and Ohio landscaped water feature.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with same-reel garden footage, then other 1949 Cincinnati material, then broader mid-century pond, fountain, park, or leisure scenes.
