Man Entering Pool in 1960s Swimwear — Clip Details

A man in red plaid swim trunks and a dark swim cap steps into a sunlit outdoor pool at a 1960s resort. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures him adjusting his cap, walking toward the pool ladder, and climbing down into the water. The scene includes a stone wall, white lounge chairs, and a red-and-white striped awning, with other guests relaxing in the background. The warm color palette and film grain evoke authentic 1960s Americana nostalgia.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s Los Angeles leisure, resort, poolside recreation, and home-movie inserts in documentary or period lifestyle edits.
Period detail: The swim cap, plaid trunks, white lounge chairs, stone pool edge, and striped awning may show early-1960s resort or club recreation style.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in an unstaged home-movie moment as the man approaches the ladder, adjusts his cap, and steps into the pool.
What appears in frame: Visible details include a man in swim trunks and cap, pool ladder, blue water, stone wall, white railings, lounge chairs, awning, and other guests.
Film character: The 8mm footage has soft focus, visible grain, rounded frame edges, uneven exposure, and handheld framing typical of amateur color home movies.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief recreation insert, summer transition, poolside cutaway, or personal memory beat within a 1960s sequence.
Historical context: The scene documents casual warm-weather leisure around an outdoor pool, with adults relaxing nearby and the camera focused on one swimmer.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so copyright status should be reviewed separately from possible likeness or venue-related permissions.
Research search match: Likely matches searches for 1961 Los Angeles pool home movie, 1960s resort swimming footage, vintage 8mm recreation, and man entering pool.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with same-reel pool scenes, then other Los Angeles 1961 leisure footage, then broader 1960s resort or swimming home movies.
