Lioness Resting On Flat Rocky Outcrop In Savanna — Clip Details

SUDAN-1969: A vintage 8mm home movie captures a lioness resting on a flat rocky outcrop in a sun-drenched savanna. The golden-furred predator lies peacefully on the weathered stone, surrounded by lush green grass and scattered trees. In later frames, another lioness appears in the shade of a bush, highlighting the natural behavior of these big cats in their habitat. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 film grain and color saturation, offering authentic archival wildlife footage from the late 1960s.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s Sudan wildlife home-movie footage for productions needing a brief archival cutaway of lions resting on rocky savanna ground.
Period detail: The 8mm color look and metadata-supported 1969 date place the clip in a late-1960s travel-film context, with no visible modern buildings, vehicles, or signage.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes from a distant visitor viewpoint, holding on resting lions without staged action or close wildlife handling.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include lionesses, a flat rock outcrop, green grasses, scattered trees, bushes, pale stones, and dark contact-sheet borders.
Film character: The footage carries soft 8mm focus, saturated greens and golds, visible grain, mild exposure variation, and a steady but informal home-movie framing.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a wildlife insert, travel-film cutaway, or quiet transition beat within a sequence about East African savanna landscapes.
Historical context: The clip provides visual context for amateur wildlife observation in Sudan, showing big cats at rest within an open grassy and rocky habitat.
Research note: No people, logos, or private property are visible, but users should confirm source copyright and any wildlife-location requirements for their use.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1969 Sudan 8mm wildlife footage, vintage home movie lioness on rocks, and 1960s savanna big cat cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby shots from the same reel, then other Sudan 1969 wildlife or landscape footage, then broader vintage lion and savanna material.
