Pack Of Lioness Hanging Out On A Hillside In The Sun — Clip Details

SUDAN-1969: A vintage 8mm home movie captures a pride of lionesses resting on a sun-drenched rocky hillside under a cloudy sky. The footage, shot on Super 8 film, shows the wild animals lounging in the African savanna, with one lioness lying prominently in the foreground. The camera pans slightly across the rugged terrain, revealing sparse vegetation and a large tree in the background. The warm, faded colors and film grain evoke a nostalgic, archival feel from the late 1960s.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s wildlife or travel documentary edits needing real 8mm footage of lionesses resting on rocky terrain in Sudan.
Period detail: The 8mm color stock, soft focus, faded palette and metadata-supported 1969 Sudan setting place the clip in a late-1960s home-movie context.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot safari feel, with a handheld camera observing resting big cats from a cautious distance rather than staging action.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include lionesses on a rocky hillside, scrub vegetation, a large tree, scattered stones, pale clouds and dark film-frame borders.
Film character: Grain, slight blur, uneven exposure and handheld framing give the scene the texture of original 8mm travel footage.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a wildlife cutaway, travel-memory insert, or quiet transition within sequences about African landscapes or safari observation.
Historical context: The footage shows a mid-century travel encounter with wild lions in open rocky habitat, without visible people, vehicles, signage or built structures.
Research note: No people, logos or private interiors are visible, but animal-location identification and underlying film copyright should still be reviewed before use.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1969 Sudan 8mm wildlife footage, lionesses on hillside, African savanna home movie, and vintage safari travel film.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel safari material, then other Sudan 1969 landscape or wildlife clips, then broader vintage African animal footage.
