Three Distinct Women Wave From Parade Floats — Clip Details

A vibrant 1952 California parade captured on 8mm film, featuring three distinct women in colorful attire waving from floats. One woman in a bright yellow top and silver necklace smiles while waving to a large crowd, another in a blue swimsuit poses near a 'JAPAN' banner, and a third blonde woman waves beneath an 'ENGLAND' sign. The footage shows classic mid-century fashion, festive atmosphere, and the grainy, saturated color typical of vintage home movies, with a large crowd lining the street.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s California parade requests needing brief color 8mm shots of women waving from floats before a large public crowd.
Period detail: The clip shows mid-century dress, parade signage for Japan and England, crowded sidewalks, and saturated 8mm color consistent with the supplied 1952 home-movie metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The camera catches smiling parade participants waving toward spectators from a casual street-level home-movie viewpoint.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include three women on parade floats, a dense crowd, international country banners, bright costumes, building facades, and handheld street-parade framing.
Film character: The footage has warm saturated color, soft focus, visible grain, slight blur, and handheld exposure shifts typical of scanned 8mm home movies.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, transition, or memory beat for mid-century public celebration, pageant, or parade sequences.
Historical context: The frames suggest a civic or themed parade with women representing different countries, but the specific event and float organization are not identified here.
Research note: People and readable country signage are visible, so likeness and contextual review may be needed separate from any copyright assessment of the physical film scan.
Research search match: 1952 California 8mm parade footage, women waving from floats, international parade banners, mid-century crowd street celebration.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other California 1952 parade footage, then broader 1950s public celebration and pageant material.
