1952 Miss World Parade – Miss Greece In Focus — Clip Details

A young woman in a teal swimsuit and sash poses at the 1952 Miss World Parade in California, standing before a decorative arch labeled 'GREECE' with a crown emblem. The 8mm home movie footage captures her smiling and turning slightly, with colorful flags and a building in the background. The vibrant, sun-drenched scene features classic mid-century fashion and a nostalgic, vintage aesthetic with natural film grain and slight color fading typical of 1950s Super 8 footage.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s documentary or museum edits needing pageant parade footage with an international contestant focus in California.
Period detail: The swimsuits, sashes, crown-topped country arch, flags, and 8mm color stock support a mid-century public parade or pageant setting.
Home-movie behavior: The camera holds close as the woman smiles and turns slightly, giving the clip a visitor-shot immediacy rather than a staged press view.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in a teal swimsuit and sash, a GREECE arch, crown decorations, colorful flags, building facades, and street signage.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm grain, faded color, slight exposure variation, and handheld framing that read as authentic home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, identity cutaway, or memory beat within sequences about mid-century parades, pageants, or international display.
Historical context: The clip visually reflects a period public presentation of women through national sashes and costume-like swimwear, with social context requiring careful framing.
Research note: Visible faces and country signage may require likeness and contextual review, while copyright status should be assessed separately from appearance releases.
Research search match: Researcher matches include 1952 California parade footage, Miss Greece pageant home movie, 1950s international parade, and 8mm beauty contest footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then with California 1952 parade material, then with broader 1950s pageant or international fair scenes.
