Sweeping View Of Hotel Swimming Pool Featuring Yellow... — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1958, this vintage home movie captures a sun-drenched resort poolside scene in Las Vegas. The clip opens with a dark, shadowy view of the pool and lawn, then pans to reveal two distinctive yellow-and-white striped parasols shading tables on the grass. A man and woman in light-colored 1950s attire walk past the pool, with a building featuring a 'NEPTUNE' sign visible in the background. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 grain, warm color saturation, and a nostalgic, candid feel.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports requests for 1950s Las Vegas resort leisure footage, especially poolside establishing shots or archival inserts about midcentury travel and hotels.
Period detail: The light summer clothing, striped parasols, pool furniture and painted hotel sign may show a midcentury resort setting consistent with the 1958 metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The handheld pan and passing guests give the scene an unstaged visitor-shot view of a hotel pool rather than a formal promotional setup.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a swimming pool, clipped lawn, striped yellow-and-white parasols, patio tables, lounge chairs, shrubs, hotel walls and two adult guests.
Film character: The 8mm image has soft focus, visible grain, uneven exposure and dark frame edges that preserve the physical texture of a home-movie scan.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short resort cutaway, Las Vegas travel insert, poolside transition or memory beat within a 1950s leisure sequence.
Historical context: The clip visually reflects hotel pool recreation and warm-weather tourism without proving the identity, ownership or broader history of the property.
Research note: People and a visible hotel sign require likeness and brand review, while copyright status is separate from any location, trademark or privacy considerations.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1958 Las Vegas hotel pool, 8mm resort home movie, yellow striped parasols, midcentury vacation footage and vintage swimming pool.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with other 1958 Las Vegas footage, and finally with broader midcentury hotel, pool and vacation material.
